Hurricane Sandy Affects NE Terminals: Update #3 - 10/30/2012
10/30/2012 12:02 pm
Dear Valued Customer,
Please be advised that all operations in the ports of New York, Newark, and Philadelphia will remain closed today Tuesday, 10/30/12 due to the affects of Hurricane Sandy. This includes all government offices such as CBP, FDA, and Agriculture.
It is anticipated that USCG COTP Baltimore will be lifting Maritime Condition ZULU sometime before 1300 today. They have completed preliminary inspections of all of their facilities and there are no life /safety concerns that would prevent them from opening their terminals for land side activities if tenants so desire. The truck gate at Seagirt will remain closed. They will open the truck gate at Dundalk for non-container traffic only beginning at 1300. It will be minimally staffed and they do not anticipate much traffic. The CSX ICTF gate will open at 1300.
Vessel movements will begin moving this afternoon for those vessels already in the Chesapeake Bay and it is possible that ship activity could begin this evening.
The port of Philadelphia has confirmed they will re-open for business tomorrow at their regularly scheduled times.
We will continue to update you as further information becomes available.
