The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) quantitative limits for both duty- and quota-free imports assembled from regional and/or third-country fabric origins are to be increased during the upcoming fiscal year. The new increase amounts, announced by the Committee for Implementation of Textiles Agreements (CITA), will be in effect from October 2015 through September 2016. The increase includes those finished apparel articles assembled in one or more beneficiary sub-Saharan African countries using fabric wholly formed in one or more beneficiary countries from yarn originating in the US or one or more beneficiary countries. The total increase anticipated is slightly higher than 5% in comparison to the previous years.
