STRIKE – APM Terminals Los Angeles: OCU Work Stoppage – 11/28/2012

Dear Valued Customer,

APM Terminals Pacific Ltd. Has sent out a notification In reference to the ILWU OCU work stoppage, the local arbitrator ruled yesterday evening that the pickets are non bona fide and ordered the ILWU workers to return to work at 2100 hours.

The ILWU is not adhering to the arbitrators ruling.  This action is being addressed through the grievance machinery as an illegal work stoppage which will move the issue through the Pacific Maritime Association process.

At this time they do not anticipate Pier 400 to open today.

As of now APM is the only terminal affected by this strike but it is possible that other terminals will follow such as APL and NYK.

We will continue to monitor the situation and send updates as they become available.
